Institutional Integrity

Institutional integrity is the idea that there is a baseline functionality that is necessary in any organization to keep it working properly.

This phrase is rarely heard in the 24 hr news cycle, but it should be a major issue when discussing policy.

There are definitely moral issues at play when a 13 year old is sentenced to life imprisonment, but whether or not our prison system can handle such a decision should also be asked. This is important because no matter what the moral justification for the decision if the taxpayers aren't going to be able to fund a prison system that houses inmates for 60+ years, then it's all moot.
